Julie dillemuth
Debut novelist Julie Dillemuth, PhD, is an award-winning picture book author, poet, playwright, and screenwriter. After studying archaeology at Yale, a love of maps plus a terrible sense of direction motivated her to complete a PhD in geography, emphasis in cognitive science, from UC Santa Barbara. Her six picture books with Magination Press encourage kids (and adults!) to practice spatial thinking skills, and her best-selling picture book, Loving Comfort: A Toddler Weaning Story, has helped over 70,000 families, across five languages. Julie’s poetry has appeared in Scientific American, Highlights for Children, and literary magazines, and her screenwriting has won recognition from the Ojai Film Festival and other festivals. In all her writing, Julie’s aim is smart, thoughtful stories that entertain and inspire. She lives in Santa Barbara, California, with her family. To learn more, visit www.juliedillemuth.com.
